Card Check does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Your card photos are analyzed entirely on your device and are never uploaded. Your collection and scan history sync between your devices through your own private iCloud — we cannot read them. The app does connect to card-pricing services to look up market values — those requests contain only card search terms, never anything that identifies you.
When you scan or choose a card photo, Card Check measures its centering and reads any printed text using Apple's on-device Vision framework. This all happens locally on your iPhone. Your photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we never store them.
To show market values, Card Check sends a card's name and collector number — typed by you, or read from the photo on your device — to public pricing services (such as pokemontcg.io and TCGplayer's marketplace search), which return prices and a card image. Graded-sale price lookups are routed through a small relay we operate, which forwards only the card's catalog number, keeps no logs of who asked, and stores nothing but a short-lived cache of the prices themselves. When you tap a price link, the app opens TCGplayer, Cardmarket, or eBay in your browser to view live or sold listings.
These requests contain only card search terms. They do not include your name, account, location, device identifiers, or any other personal information. We do not log or store these lookups. The third-party services you connect to (pokemontcg.io, TCGplayer, Cardmarket, eBay) operate under their own privacy policies.
Your collection, scan history, and app state live in the app's private container on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, they also sync between your own devices through Apple's CloudKit private database — storage that belongs to your personal iCloud account. We have no ability to read, access, or share anything in it; Apple's design makes it visible only to you. No iCloud account? The app simply keeps everything on-device.
Deleting the app erases the local data. Your synced copy can be removed by deleting the app's iCloud data in Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
The app is rated 4+. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, the app complies with COPPA, GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations by virtue of collecting nothing in the first place.
